A consultation is the first step in understanding and addressing your hair or scalp concerns. This appointment allows for a thorough assessment to determine the underlying issue and the most suitable course of action.
During your consultation, Lorna will discuss key factors that may contribute to your condition, including:
- General Health & Medical History (recent illnesses, surgeries, medications)
- Timeline of Symptoms (when the issue began, treatments you've tried, progression)
- Underlying Health Conditions (thyroid, heart, autoimmune disorders, stress)
- Diet & Nutritional Factors (digestion, vitamin deficiencies, supplements)
- Genetic Links (family history of hair loss or scalp conditions)
For hair loss consultations, it is highly beneficial to bring along any recent blood test results, even if they indicate normal readings. Some essential markers for hair health may not always be flagged in routine tests.
A handheld Trichoscope may be used to examine the scalp and hair follicles in detail. This photo-magnification technology provides a closer look at initial hair growth patterns and follicular health, offering valuable insights into your condition.
